The next project for Principles of Illustration is “All Line, All Shape.” My professor asked us to do two portraits of a classmate, one representing line and the other representing shape. The assignment as a whole, requires us to listen to the two radiolabs (attached below), choose one and create 2 illustrations about a story in the podcast. One illustration needs to be line based meaning the image relies heavily on a strong outline and the other illustration needs to be based on shape, meaning the main focus of the design is expressed through color and shapes. The two images above were the portraits I did in class, the top one being shape and bottom being line. I have to do 6 sketches by next Tuesday so I’ll post them later in the week.
